This week, we’re checking out Revel Body’s unique and intriguingly futuristic Revel Body SOL Sonic vibrator. It advertises being able to vibrate at the precise frequency of OM, the universal resonance of peace and power, but more than that, I could see right away that it was an interesting toy that was doing something that no one else was doing!

I’m all for exciting vibrations, and when it comes to trying something new, I’m even more interested. Revel has two products available, but what they lack in variety, they make up for with luxury. There’s a lot to be said for getting a high-quality sex toy for your intimate needs, and that seems to be what Revel Body is providing.
What I found in my rather thorough investigation is that the SOL Sonic Vibrator lives up to Revel Body’s reputation and then some! The vibrations are powerful, the functionality is high, and this vibe is an amazing addition to any massage, whether it is sensual or platonic.
Secure Box And Elegant Slip Covers
I was pleased to see that the Revel Body believes in the privacy of its clients. The SOL sonic vibrator showed up in a plain brown box with nothing to give its exciting contents away. I picked it up from the mail man and got right upstairs to see what I was getting.
When I slit the plain box, I found the SOL Sonic Vibrator’s container wrapped up in orange tissue paper. Revel Body apparently believes in very secure packaging, and I like that, though it did make me a bit clumsy as I tried to tear it open. Hint: tear apart the sleeve, and then slit the two pieces of tape holding the slip cover on.

When I removed the slip cover, there was the SOL Sonic vibrator, seated like gem on a pedestal. My first impression was that it was both solid and impressively heavy. The silicone covering of this toy is very soft and smooth, and it fits very nicely in my hand.
With the SOL Sonic Vibrator, you get the vibrator itself, the USB charging stand, two extra tip attachments for varied sensations, a packet of lubricant, and a fair chunk of paperwork. There is a card telling you what the vibrator can do, an instruction manual, and a letter of quality assurance.
What You Should Know
For a toy this complex, I decided that I should probably read the instructions first, and I am glad I did. In the first place, it comes with some great assurances. This toy is free of pthalates, nickel and lead, making it a great body-safe toy to play with. It is also rechargeable via USB, meaning that it conserves energy and can be hooked up to your computer, sparing an outlet.

It is worth noting that there are very strong magnets that are used in this vibrator. There are cautions against anyone with pacemakers, stents or medical implants using this toy, and there is also a warning about leaving it too close to a phone or a computer. I was a little concerned about the magnets combined with the USB charger, but when I looked it up, in general, a magnet will do little to harm computer equipment unless you are still using floppy disks. However, there is a chance that a powerful magnet left on top of your tower or laptop can warp the drive, so exercise caution!
What Makes Up The SOL Sonic Vibrator?
Though using this toy is intuitive, it is worth it to know how it goes together. Essentially, the toy functions by vibrating the cylindrical core to which the red tip is attached. The red button on the concave end is used to push the core straight out of the vibrator, which you should do during cleaning. When you want to put the core back into the vibrator, simply push it in. The magnets pull it back into place with startling firmness. All in all, solid design!
Charging Up
After getting all of the instructions out of the way, I was ready to get started. I hooked up the USB cord to my computer and set up the charging stand, which is simple, stable and quite attractive. I made sure that the magnetic charger slots were lined up, and they slid in place with very few problems at all.
When the SOL Sonic Vibrator is charging, it lights up with a soft blue glow, and when the glow turns off, the device is fully charged. My vibrator was charged up in about 1.5 hours, and I added a few drops of water to the concave side of the vibrator as the instructions told me to do. After that, I was ready to go!

Using The Right Lube
As with any silicone toy, remember that you ought to use a water-based lube to avoid any damage to the toy itself. I had water-based Astroglide on hand, and that worked out quite well. I added a small dollop to the red tip and got started.
My Vibrator Is Singing At Me
As the instruction booklet told me, there are six settings over all, and quickly, I rotated through all six of them and the Rose tip. My thoughts are below:
Setting 1. That’s really not much of anything, but it is the lowest setting available.
2. Heating up nicely, I could orgasm from this, but it would probably take a little while.
3. WOW, that’s definitely the most intense vibration on this thing. This one is several times more intense than any of the other settings.
4. Oh neat. This setting is very much a low humming, rapid and quick. This, and the next two settings have a frequency that sounds very musical to me.
5. Faster, and I actually like 4 better. This tone is a little shrill and grating to me.
6. This is the OM setting, and I spent some time playing with it. It’s very fast, but there is something really pleasant about it. They say that OM taps you into the energy that binds the world together, and while I am not sure that this does that, it’s very pleasurable and soothing, though it does not really make me want to orgasm.
I know what I like, so I put it back on setting 3. It is powerful, fast, and perfect for a quick orgasm. I also realized that setting 2 or 3 is where you are going to want to be for massage. I used the Fawn tip to stimulate my labia, my perineum and my nipples, and that was wonderfully sensual and pleasant. It did less for my clit, but really, that’s what the plain Rose tip is for. I tried the concave Ever tip, and just came away a little underwhelmed. For me, the Fawn tip is for massage, and the Rose tip is for fun!

Under The Water: Suction And More
One of the interesting features of the SOL Sonic Vibrator is that it provides clit suction when you use it under the water. A little bit after my fun with the vibrator in bed, I took it to the bathroom. I filled the bath, and got in, applying the concave end of the vibrator to my clit.
The feeling is certainly pleasant and enjoyable, and it feels terrific on the labia, but this is not a terribly powerful suction. It does make the clitoris pleasantly sensitive, however, and I just ended up turning it around and using the Rose tip again!
Massage Dream
Revel’s mission statement makes it very clear that sexual health is a part of general health, and with that in mind, I decided to see how the SOL Sonic Vibrator would do as a massage tool. I love giving massages, but my issue is that my hands get tired fairly quickly.
The fact that this vibrator is basically a ball makes it extremely ergonomic. I could roll it over my neck and my shoulders, and on the most powerful setting, especially when I pressed it against my muscles, it felt great. Once again, the Rose tip was the clear winner, though the Fawn was nice for lighter passes. The Ever tip simply didn’t do much for me here.
When I am using the SOL Sonic Vibrator to perform a massage on someone I will likely start off slowly and gently with the Fawn and then move on to the Rose tip.
I’m pretty pleased that this vibrator has a fun function outside of the bedroom!
Extra Fun
I am all for fitting as much fun into a toy as I can, and seeing as I have a fairly enormous interest in bondage and domination, I immediately thought about how you could use this toy with rope play. The roundness of the vibrator would present a challenge to a top, but I could see how you could attach the vibrator to the clitoris and just leave it on.
When I was using it, I was generally on my back, but it would be super intense and maybe just a little overwhelming to lie on top of it with my weight pressing down on the vibrating tip. Both of these ideas are definitely going on the list of things for me to try!
Discreet Design
One thing that I like about this vibrator is the plausible deniability. If you are heading out of town and you want to bring some fun with you, this really is a vibrator that looks like an ergonomic back massager. Having a locking function where it would stay off for your flight would be ideal, but this one wouldn’t make me blush much if airport personnel wanted to know what it was for.
Concluding Thoughts
Honestly, this is a great toy and definitely an improvement to their previous version. I love how innovative it is, and when I watched the videos about it from Revel Body, I could tell that a lot of thought and love had gone into the design. The use of magnets to move the vibrating part of the toy was extremely clever, and I am looking forward to seeing more toys that have this feature.
It is powerful enough to provide an excellent orgasm, and though I won’t be meditating with it any time soon, I know I will still be enjoying the OM setting. It is worth nothing that it is a bit loud on the highest setting, but possibly applying lubricant to the core will help prevent that in the future.
