Let’s face it, until a few years back, people who were doing bondage were often considered weirdos.
But the movie 50 Shades of Grey, although very much disliked by the bondage community, who consider it too vanilla… has paradoxically helped to bring BDSM into the mainstream. Is that a good thing…?
Hmm. Well, it depends on whom you ask.
I think yes.
BDSM has risen in popularity and with it the sale of rope, tape, nipples’ toys, and even slings and swings.
I believe that as of now, most adults in the world have tried a thing or two, or at least blindfolding their partners.
But what is BDSM?
BDSM is a sort of role-playing power sex game, where one person is dominant and the other is submissive. They are often referred to as the “dom” (or top) and the “sub” (or bottom).
The Dom is the one doing stuff to the sub.
But the Dom is actually serving the Sub by playing out their fantasies (agreed on beforehand).
For example, the Sub may want to be tight up with some rope and flogged on their butt cheeks. And the Dom serves the Sub by doing just that.
A key feature in all BDSM relationships is consent.
BDSM couples have safe words or safe gestures to communicate to their partner when they feel too much pain or discomfort or simply want to stop.
In these BDSM stock photos, we played with rope bondage, suspensions, taping, and put the subjects in some interesting BDSM sex positions.
It was a lot of fun actually.
We placed the couple in the doggy style, cowgirl, missionary, and in crazier sex positions, some of them probably unrealistic.
Is BDSM for everyone?
I think everyone can try it. Especially couples who are a bit bored of their usual sexual routine.
If your partner gets more excited by a football match than by seeing you naked or if the thought of having a shower after sex makes them too lazy to even start… then maybe you can kick ass your relationship with some BDSM.
Start simple, using some blindfolds, handcuffs, and tape.
Now you can find these basic BDSM sex toys in any sex shop pretty much.
Of course, talk to your partner first, be convincing… make that sexy face, or bite your lips when you mention the word BDSM.
Don’t just say: “Here’s the rope, wrap me against this pole and take me!” but go slower and approach the subject with curiosity.
