Introducing The Divine Diva
I’ll start off by saying that The Divine Diva Strap On Harness is by far the best harness I’ve ever owned. Before I say anything else, I want to stress that while it is an excellent choice for plus sized people (this baby can stretch to 82” waist), anyone can use this strap on harness, and being plus size is certainly not its only selling point.
When I moved from a ‘my first strap on’ style- sticky, cheap, PVC harness, up to high quality leather, I noticed the improvement straight away; but even my soft black leather number could dig in, come loose, get sweaty, and generally be uncomfortable. The Divine Diva, despite being the chunkiest of the 3 strap on harnesses I have tried, has absolutely stolen my heart. It’s the most practical, durable, and dwarfs any other strap on harness I’ve tried on the comfort scale; with padded front and back panels, soft (and bloody strong) nylon straps, and two leg loops rather than one awkward strap between the legs. It only comes in black, but if you want a high quality, hard working strap on harness – and especially if you’re a larger lover, this is your answer.
Here you can see the strap on harness fitting snugly on a slender figure, the padded front and back are easy to see, and the legs straps fit firmly and comfortably under buttocks.
Wow, this thing is soft! First impressions
The first thing I noticed about the strap on harness was how soft and light it is, the pads most in contact with your skin are like little quilted pillows, padded but not too bulky. In the box came 3 different sized ‘O’ rings and while I’ve hung on to all three, so far I have only used the medium one. The strap on harness is extremely easy to adjust with plastic clips, and there is plenty of slack, hence the ‘Plus Sized’ label.
When I tried the strap on harness on I noticed there was a lot of extra slack and the nylon belt hung down to almost my knees – this can be a little unsightly – so it was suggested that I trim the excess belt, and singe the edges to prevent fraying. This worked an absolute treat. Unless you are unsure of who might be wearing The Divine Diva in the future, trim the belt down to size, leaving at least a few inches each side, and do the same with the leg loops which are adjusted in much the same way. That said, this strap on harness is also excellent if you and your partner both like to strap it on, but are totally different sizes.
Here it is again, easy to step into, and still with plenty of room for adjustment even after having trimmed the excess material.
Another great thing I noticed about this strap on harness is that the ‘O‘ ring section is entirely adjustable, while many strap ons have a hole already set, this harness has three nylon loops, all of which do up with a metal popper. You loop these around your chosen ‘O‘ ring to keep it in place, and it works perfectly. What this means, is that the harness can be used with absolutely any size of dildo, which is great if you have a range or like me, a penchant for trying new things.
The only downfall of The Divine Diva Strap On Harness is that it is slightly bulkier than its leather counterparts, and if sexy aesthetics are important to you it might put you off. In my opinion the strap on harness is hardly a turn off, it’s plain black and form fitting – but it does lack that kinky leather allure.
Trying it on- Now where does this buckle go?
It was fairly simple to work out how The Divine Diva worked, and I found it fairly easy to put on and buckle up! To put the strap on harness on, simply slide a leg into each loop hole and pull the belt up to sit around your hips. Tug the nylon straps until the strap on harness is snug and secure. The base of the dildo should sit comfortably with the the padding, flat against your anatomy. It shouldn’t flop down too much, as that’s a sign it’s a bit too heavy for the strap on harness. I am confident that the Divine Diva will carry the heavy weights with ease and grace unlike most of the skinnier more ‘sexy’ strap on harnesses.
The Divine Diva Strap On Harness is really easy to step in to, pull up, and tighten – I can do it in a matter of seconds. However, one of this strap on harness’ strongest points is also one of its downfalls. During use, this strap on harness will not loosen up – its great!
If you like particularly rough play then I would strongly recommend looking into The Divine Diva, despite being easy to loop back up if the belt falls out of the clip, the ridges in the plastic mean that the material really can’t slide backwards easily – keeping your harness and your toy firmly in place throughout any shenanigans
‘Strap on’ or ‘Strapless’?
One thing that I dislike about strap on harnesses in general is the rather unromantic shuffle to slide into the loops and get it on and all adjusted. Then comes taking off the strap on harness, often accompanied by a lot of squirming, pulling, twisting, and yes – occasionally grunting. For me, the positives of this feature far outweigh the negatives, but if you’re taking it off mid-session it can be a little awkward…
While this strap on harness is a relatively easy one to get on, if the idea of having to stop and belt up mid-foreplay bothers you, either put it on first in anticipation or look for a ‘strapless strap on’ that gives you more freedom to be spontaneous.
The other issue I find with using a harnessed dildo is that without assistance from either another toy such as a vibrator, or even an extra partner, it is really hard to reach orgasm from penetrating someone else alone. This is sometimes really frustrating, so perhaps a ‘strapless’ model would be good, if like me, you enjoy the best of both worlds!
Which dildo to use? I wonder if this will work with all my toys…
I find that when shopping for strap on dildos in general you have to channel your inner Goldilocks, and find the one that’s just right for you. Like I said, the Sportsheets Divine Diva Plus Size strap on harness is suitable for all sizes of dildo. It can accommodate most girths in its range of rubber rings, as long as it has the typical flared base. However, if you have a particularly unusual size of toy, you can always purchase an extra ‘O’ ring to add to your collection – much cheaper than a whole new harness!
My large dildo (measuring 45 x 165mm) sits happily and snugly in the medium ‘O’ ring, any wider and i’d need to use the larger one.
I would recommend using an ‘O’ ring that fits snugly over your dildo, but isn’t tight enough to damage the rubber or silicone surface upon rough play – keep an eye out for this. If one ring is a little too big and the other too tight, try some lubrication to slide the toy into place.
Even though the best dildo I generally use for strap on play is sturdy and quite heavy (45×165 – 100% silicone), it sat happily and proudly in my new strap on harness. The base of the toy was flat as it should be, and the medium ‘O’ ring held it snugly in place.
The main belt of this strap on harness is quite thick, along with the padded back and front it’s certainly much chunkier than most leather or PVC styles.
It’s pretty easy to insert or change toys with the Divine Diva – you can pop and un-pop all or some of the poppers to loosen the ‘O’ ring and make changing toys easier. You can slide the dildo into the ‘O‘ ring and then loop it into the strap on harness and secure the poppers, or secure the ‘O‘ ring in first before sliding in the dildo. Really it’s just whatever you find easier, but it’s nice to have a choice! The only pitfall with this kind of strap on harness is if your dildo has balls, luckily none of mine do. The bottom loop used to anchor the ‘O’ ring will be quite a challenge to get on over anything but the typical flared base.
Extra Padding- it really does feel amazing!
The Divine Diva strap on harness is made of super soft material and has extra padding support, I can’t stress enough how much more comfortable it is to wear than a ‘traditional’ leather harness. Despite being soft and cushioned the fabric is extremely strong and durable, the straps are nylon (like a seatbelt), so you can use it and abuse it, no problem. For larger wearers, the plus size strap on has an extra benefit, the slightly more bulky nature of the strap on harness combined with it’s no-budge benefits, means that any muffin top or ‘overhang‘ you might have is kept out of the way and supported.
How strong is it? Trying out the Divine Divas durability…
One big advantage that I only clocked later on is that the straps also sit comfortably on either side of your bum, not through your legs. This is miles more comfortable, as I’m sure some of you know that an ‘in-between’ strap can be rather uncomfortable, or even chafe. The more genius part of this design, is that it means your genitals are exposed – you don’t have to take it all off again if your partner wants to touch you, penetrate you, or if you want to use an additional toy such as a vibrator or butt plug.
To change O rings, simply un-pop the poppers, and loop them back around your new size. These are very secure, and have not once undone accidentally.
I have always used leather strap on harnesses in the past, and whilst they felt great when they weren’t on, they often didn’t fit right, dug into or rubbed my skin, and moved around too much when in use. I can happily say that every single one of these problems are solved with the Sportsheets Divine Diva Plus Size strap on harness.
Often when using a larger, heavier, huge dildo, your strap on harness can slide around a bit from all the extra weight, but the Divine Diva just did not want to move! My largest dildo sat comfortably and the strap on harness didn’t move around at all thanks to correct sized ‘O’ ring I’d used. The strap on harness withstood the weight of the dildo, and the dildo didn’t really flop down at all. Everything stayed in place, even with quite rough play.
Cleaning the harness
Another reason to sing the praises of the Divine Diva – it is totally machine washable! You can shove it in at any heat, with any wash (the colour won’t run), and even tumble dry it, which I think is fantastic. That said, a tumble dryer is hardly necessary – I found that the fabric retains minimal moisture, after washing it dries in no time at all. This is particularly handy if you want to get it back in the drawer asap!
I do end up washing my strap-on harness regularly, because it’s black and it isn’t wipe clean like leather or PVC, it can get some rather unsightly marks. I won’t go into detail but there are certain parts of the strap on harness that are susceptible to becoming dirty, so you will likely want to wash it often. This is at no detriment to the strap on harness at all, so for me it’s a non-issue.
Conclusions: an excellent toy for beginners and pros…
I struck gold with the Divine Diva; it is adaptable, comfortable, and durable.
A huge selling point is of course the fact that it fits all shapes and sizes, it really is the number one strap on harness for the larger lover. As well as being plus-size, it fits any form well and comfortably – there are no niggling areas that rub or irritate.
This aside, I think the strap on harness is one of the most versatile you can find, and is great choice for those looking for their first strap on harness, as well as those more experienced with strap ons. If you are more experienced, its likely you’ll have tried a leather or PVC strap on harness, but trust me, give this one a shot and you’ll never look back! It’s strong, it will last for years, and is suitable for all different kinds of play.

For those of you who aren’t too precious about a slinky, seductive strap on harness – I really can’t recommend The Sportsheets Divine Diva Plus Size strap on harness enough.
